Cuda "Barricuda" Cat

This page is all about Cuda the cat, our most long-lived pet. He is about 8 years old now, and is the holder of our "All-time Oldest Pet" position. Cuda hails from San Diego but is taking to life in Buffalo with aplomb!

NEW! Cuda and Flounder had fleas this summer and they (the fleas) were in our basement as well. What a pain in the ***!! We tried everything, from dousing the cats with baby powder to smother the fleas, to spraying them down with apple cider vinegar to make their skin less attractive to the biting buggers. Finally, we had to just dose them with Advantage, but by the time we came to this conclusion, Cuda had had enough and basically ran away from home. He wouldn't come when called and ran away if you tried to approach him.

After several weeks of Cuda being at large, Pete finally tracked him down and spent about two hours coaxing the cat to come out from beneath our car. The little piss-pot! We were finally about to get him the flea medicine and he's been grounded in the basement (which is flea-free now) ever since. There's a full month of summer left, though, so I think I'll let him out tonight!
